Default tire size too big/

so i cant decide on tire and wheel size. i want low profile to begin with something like 275 35
i currently have the stock size and no drop so it looks like a frickn 4x4.
if i go with a 20" would i still need to drop it or will the tire and wheels fill the gap enough?
thanks

If your wanting to fill the wheelwell dropping the car via a spring package would be a much better option.

You will need to keep your overall tire height the same regardless of the wheel size, you will simply run a shorter sidewall/tire with the larger rim. In other words, you don't really fill up the well any better.

If you don't you will effect both your speedometer and your final drive ratio. Putting on a taller overal tire height will acutally reduce your ratio. For example, instead of 3.27s you might end up with a 3.08 ratio.

you put 20's on a Mustang and you deserve to be donkeypunched
.[sm=chairshot.gif]

just lower your car and run 18" rims. any bigger rims leave too little sidewall. you will end up popping your tire off the rim while driving around town

ya i think 18 is the biggest size rim to run on a mustang. ive seen em with 19s and 20s and to me they look out of place.

IMHO (OK, maybe not so humble) 19s and 20s look silly on nearly anything...

alrighty then 18's it is then! thanks for the help! kinda glad too because the difference between the 18's and 20's was gonna be another few hundred bucks.

if you get 20"s it wont do any good like 2kgt4.6 said, you will just have to get lower profile tires

and yes to answer your question it will rub like borat does to pamela

if you want a bigger wheel you can get 18"s and still maintane half decent mpg/speed/ride comfort with 20"s all 3 of those are toast
