Good question, idk? I don't think it effects it because they put all the vehicle info in the computer before they do it.

They don't. For someone that knows how to setup and use a Dyno you can put in a different gear ratio to correct the numbers being displayed.

It can vary slightly..... but you'll almost never get the exact same numbers when you dyno multiple times.... infact wether your tuning or not, just making 3 runs all three will be a bit different, usually the second one will be the highest of the 3...

So the answer... not nearly enough for anyone to be able to tell from one run to another if it actualy effected the dyno readings or not.

gears do not change dyno readings... just because the car moves faster through the powerband doesn't mean anything... the only thing you might see with gears, with a high hp car, if your gearing is to steep... you might go through the gear to fast for you to benefit from all the hp, but that's about it..

You get dyno'ed in 4th gear where the ratio is 1:1, with the final ratio of 3.73 or 4.10 or 4.30 or whatever it is... The reason you dyno in 4th gear, is that because every 4th gear is 1:1, and you have to create a level playing field whether you have a 88 Civic, or a 2007 C6 Z06... or else the reading mean really less what they do now..

Agreed, Gears don't affect peak hp. THink of it this way, the same motor and car just getting to the numbers quicker.
