I'd probably pass on the car. If he doesn't know what is on it for a pulley - I wouldn't be surprised if the car has a canned tune for the pulley or no tune at all.

For 5-6 grand more he could get himself a lower mileage Cobra in better shape.

if hes serious about buying a cobra, id say wait, find one with less miles, and less stuff done. its a little more fun when you can do mods yourself

+1 on the less miles.... but -1 on the less done... I fully agree... it's great to get the work done, and enjoy doin it yourself... but for 27k these 03/04 Cobras are selling all day long with over 20k already invested and less than 20-30k miles on it... If you have the money to throw around and get the car to that point than yea... by all means go for it! Otherwise the average smuck like me is better off buyin the car from the rich *** across the way who wants something else and needs to make room in the garage!

I know all about a former owner not knowing whats on his car ( just do a search on my thread called Surprising dyno results and videos) and you'll see why[&:]

I guess I learned something... I thought that if you didn't have idlers with a smaller upper pulley, that you would automatically get belt slip. But it doesn't hurt to have the idlers there tho.
