<FONT face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" color=red size=2>ok I was doing the speed limit going through the country and all the sudden I noticed all this debree in the road. Well it turns out it was cement blocks and wood scattered about a 100 yds. across both lanes. I hit the brakes and tried to avoid hitting the big stuff with out very much luck. keep in mind my other choice was a cannel on both sides so couldnt do any other munuevers to avoid it. Well I cracked one rim bent the other two. Bent my exaust pretty bad. Hope just cat back. Well heres my question. Do any of you guys think that I can get the cash for the parts to fix it differntly or do you think they will want to put it back to stock specs. Because I would like to put after market exaust and some drag radials in the back. I would be ok with the stock rims because they are the bullitt type.</FONT></P>

<FONT face=Arial color=#ff0000 size=2>I live in california so If any one knows any laws that apply to my sittuation that would be awsome.</FONT></P>

Did you call the cops and have an accident report written up? Otherwise you'll be paying the deductable for insurance...

It shouldn't be up to your insurance company to decide what you replace it with. After they cut you a check, they will want to see receipts.<edited><editID>Dan02GT</editID><editDate>37850.7566898148</editDate></edited>

find three good shops, one that will order the parts you want.. your insurance company cannot tell you where to go or what to do, only allot you the amount indicated by three good estimates. hope that helps... </P>

Another tip, hound them. Don't go a day without making it known that you want your check for the amount estimated, ASAP.

definitely what dan said, if you don't stand on the insurance company they will waste time.. if you have state farm find out who they use as a claim adjuster free shop or one that submits estimates for auto approval, cuts time and normally is a solid shop... virtually all shops can order any and all aftermarket parts...

you should be able to. my friend wrecked his honda civic, and when he got it fixed, he got a custom front bumper, ram air hood, Z3 fenders...and repainted it white. insurance paid for all of it. as far as fighting for your money, when my IROC-Z got destroyed, it was the night before i was goingout of town for a week. if not for that, i'd have had a check in hand within a few days. i got back on a friday, and had my check the next day.

thank you. I am leaving to oregon next week lol. But I have alot of friends who have shops so I should not have a problem getting aftermarket if the insurance doesnt have a fit. I have no police record because the sheriff that stoped was lazy and didnt want to write one. He told me he called highway potrol and I wated for 3 hours then the tow truck showed up and I just left because it was 3 in the morning. But i have allstate for insurance any one have them?
