I'd still press on and take the head out myself. You can get it off in under4 hours in a driveway. I plan on mine being off in under 3 hours at my shop. Which side head is it? Mine is the passenger side. Thank God it's the easy side! [8D]

It is the passanger side. I would need tools and a place to do it. I really dont wanna take the heads off again. It was a pita and something that I got hell for the whole time I was doing it. I need to look for an appartment or something right now so I might just have the dealership work on it and they can keep it for a week til I have the 830 to pay them. I wish I was still in the military and over in Afganistan with my old unit instead of putting up with bull**** at home.

All you need is ratchets, extensions, sockets, some swivels, and plastic bags to seperate everything. You can do the work and save a lot of money. Tell your Dad about that. You'd be saving so much money. To me, it's a no brainer.

Hahaha I know what I need, I have already done the job once. I just can't do it at my house again and I'm not asking to use a friends house. I already took the heads off the first time to save money getting all the leaky seals changed. Soif I tell my dad I am going to do that again it will just start another argument.

Thanks for the link. I am so pissed off right now at Ford. wtf do they think when they make motors? Let's make them small displacement cost a **** load to mod and oh lets make them have 4 threads for the spark plug. Well out of 3 new edges that I know of between me and two of my friends, this has happened to two of us. That's rediculous, now my friends 2000 GT knocks. Our cars are becoming GMs LT1 peices of ****. ****!

my old motor did that right before I pulled the motor to sell. I was told it would cost $80 to fix.

I just got back from Newark DE where my car was. Got it towed about less then 5 miles for 65 bucks. It's at a dealership where my friend got his heilicoil done. I have to call them tomorrow to see if they will hold it til I get my taxes back. All that money gone lol... it's kinda funny in a ****ed up way.

instead of spending $850, you could spend a $1300 and get a set of ported heads. What if you get it fixed and 6 mos later another one goes? My car did it at 121k miles. I was told it's common around 100k.

i saw that you are located in wilmington Delaware. Call evolution performance in Middletown Delaware.302-312-7813. I've seen him do it before on a Lightning. And im pretty sure he charges no where near the $800 you were quoted. And think about it this way, you would have to drive about a 1/2 an hour to get to a Ford specialists instead of some shop.
