Turn downs. Any opinions?

Turn downs. Any opinions?
How are turn downs? I need to replace my exhaust system. It's a Flowmaster cat back that has seen better days. Being from NJ, they only last about 3 to 4 years. I can get a set of used Flowmaster mufflers with turn downs for $35 locally. Should I get them? How is the sound? Thanks...

The mufflers are rotted out, there's a crack in the passenger side flow pipe, and the welds look like a 3 year old did it. - That's onlybecause I did it. Ha ha...

was thinking about doing this to my 03 gt. its got an O/R Xpipe with 40 series flows. Nothing cooler than when your driving blowing dust up. or cranking the car up and blowing dust. I bet it would be loud in my car as the drone is loud with tailpipes but i havea seat delete in as well.

I have never cared for turndowns, it just gives too much resonance and drone in the interior. Every turndown car I have rode in had so much resonance and droning that the radio was useless unless you were idling.

who needs a radio. I just tune into Mustang 2003-4.6. Seriously i love to hear the sound of my own car and it sounds even better when i let someone else drive and i stand on the side of the road and listen to it drive off and then come speeding back. man, gotta love that x-pipe! I think im going to do it when i go to put exhaust on my race car, ill tell the guy who i let do my exhaust cut the tails off the GT and put turndowns under it.
Hey ive heard that HOTROD recommends you turn them at and angle towards each other..like pointing them towards the ground but at each other like a V. They say that it will keep dirt and trash and stuff blowing in a line out the back rather than blowing it all over your rear tires. Any truth to this?
