Throwout bearing questions GT

RE: Throwout bearing questions GT
I'm going to be "odd man out" here, however if the noise "goes away" when you step on the clutch I'd be very surprised that the ToB is bad. When you step on the clutch the throwout bearing is doing it's work--if it were bad it would howl like a banshee...If the "whirring" noise you refer to is rather low in volume (easily masked by the radio or just plain "not paying attention") then it's just normal tranny mainshaft noise from having the transmission in neutral with the clutch out--many people never hear it because they sit at lights with the clutch in.A slightly differing engagement point could be just temperature related (the clutch's temp) or possibly a improperly adjusted cable. If as you have said the noise goes away when you step on the clutch I'd bet real money it's NOT the throw-out bearing...

take the cover off to the clucth fork while its running at an idle. You notice it vibtating like crazy casuing the clutch pedal to vibrate and make a very annoying noise. FRPP king cobra will suit you just fine, i have it and love it, know people who have it and love it.

Im gonna have to say that yes this is the throw out bearing however its not an issue
My throwout bearing whined and whined the whole time i have had my car. I replaced the clutch and throw out bearing and i still have the same noise. It the cable style clutch and ford throw out bearings. I managed a parts house for a couple years and i heard this problem constantly with cable cluthes

also be careful when replaceing the clutch on your 02 its possible that it has the T45 11" clutch and a king cobra wont work I had to send my king cobra back and buy a stock style clutch becuase it put me in such a bind since i only have one car
