hey guys i just ordered a new 03 cobra bumper w/o fog lights for 226 shipped to my door. I was wondering if this front bumper will directly fit on my 99 GT. I called up the dealership and they said it will. Would the stock gt hood line up with it? I remember there was someone on here who had the combo i want. Any help would be appreciated. Also how much do u think it would cost to paint it? Thanks

the paint job should be around $200 and mouting it around $70 which is what almost everyone charges for a one hour job.

I had the same question tho, been wanting to order one of this for a while, and was wondering how much work would it be if its not a straight fit.

It shouldnt be a prob. there are many people that have that bumper with the Stock hood. But one concern is did u buy the OEM or an Aftermarket cause lots of times the after market have some alignment problems

oh ok well im not worried about the mounting cause ill be doing that. But id like to know if its a direct fit or do ineed to modify anything?

hhmm....now that u mentioned it...i bought it from car parts wholesale (thru ebay) and it says that it meets or exceeds oem fit and finish

I bought mine from ford racing and coupled it with a ford racing cobra r hood. It fit perfectly. I wouldn't dare run aftermarket on my car.

It will bolt up but you will have some small problems. Where the gt mounts on the top, next to the headlights, its flat. Well the cobra is raised in the same spot where it mounts. When you close the hood it will hit the bumbper and start to rub the paint off on the corners. Its nothing major but its something you will have to deal with. even with that, I would still recomened doing it.

thanks! i went on ebay and typed in cobra bumper. Then i found one for like 164 plus 79 for shipping. What i did was go to the actual vendor's website and search some more thru there and found a little better deal for 146 plus 79 shipping. This place sells a lot of factory and aftermarket stuff for many cars.

Well you knw wat they say u get wat u pay for. So save a lil money jus as long as u can live wit it being a lil off.
