Default Problem after Patriot Stage II installation

I just recently had the patriot stage II heads installed, and the rest of my mods are in my sig....after the installation i noticed while dirving at a steady 2000-2500 RPM range and holding it...or just cruising at a relatively low speed i can notice the car bucking.

I took it back to the garage that worked on it (tech is ASE master certified also in engine performance as well...he owns his own fox body that he races and does work on mustangs quite a bit) He went over everything and scanned it and what he found was that it the EGR valve is allowing too much exhaust gas back into the intake....after unplugging the vacum to the valve and plugging it up....immediatly stops bucking....unplug it and reconnect it to the valve and it bucks again....

He is going to research it more, just like im doing right now but his solution was to drive it with the vacum plugged and see if i agree with him (which i do) and he would fabricate a plate inbetween the valve that would have a smaller diameter hole to restrict the flow going to the intake....

has anyone else with these heads ran into this problem or have any input on my situation??? thanks everyone

Can you feel much of a difference in performance after the install? What kind of cams are you running?

im still running the stock cams for now.....performance wise you can definatly feel a difference when you get on it...mostly top end around hitting 4000 RPM range

performance wise its great just the bucking at a 2500-2000 at a steady throttle

That was another suggestion he thought of...if i could get a better air/fuel mixure around the 2000-2500 RPM range he said it would probably take care of it but didnt wanna say a definate yes or no.

You can get the EGR system disabled pretty easily. And yea, a tune would help too.

okay so i found another problem....most of the tuners offer rich/lean adjustments for WOT only.... and my problem only occurs at cruising speed [:@] ughhhh

you need to get someone to dyno tune your car and upload that tune to the handheld so you can then use the handheld to put the dyno tune on your car

How much did the heads cost, and installation as well? Is it a seat of the pants performance increase? Did you get any before and after numbers? Hope you get everything worked out.
