Default Fuel line disconnect

I am replacing the fuel filter on my 02 GT and I cant get the fuel lines disconnected from the old filter even with the 4 peice line disconnect tool I bought from Autozone. Please can someone let me know what I am doing wrong.

If you are using the little disc looking tools then use the light blue one and just keep working at it it will come off.

sounds to me, from the way you are describing it, that you got the wrong fuel filter disconnect tool. the one I have is one piece. looks like a pair of scissors with cylindrical holes on each end. i don't think that explanation is helping... [:@] post a pic of the one you have.

ok pics not working but I know what tool your are talking about an mine are very similar and have the holes as well. But mine came with four seperate tools that are different colors and sizes. My question is what size do I use and what do I need to do to get it to release the spring inside fitting????????? Do I hammer itin there? Do I just push it in there as hard as I can and turn it or what?

I bought the same kit you had and couldnt get those damn lines lose. However, my old man, being the ultimate car guy he is, got them off with a "S..Of..A..B...", a good pull, and some gas on his coat. Twist and pull harder. Watch your face!!!

If I remember right it was the second smallest ? Light Grey?

you slide the tool over the filter and into the fuel line (away from the filter) and it will pry open the clamp.
