Has anyone made the hood scoop real or am I the only one that has cut it out and made it real?

im assuming you mean the factory hoodscoop on our cars??? i dont think your supposed to make it real....as i remember seeing a thread on here with someone getting water logged from the prev. owner drilling holes all over the place for it

I have the hood cut open to blow cold air on the intake on the freeway to help out on miliage.

there was a post on here about some kid going 120 or something, and his scoop acctually flew off. haha. ive been at 140 and havnt had that problem. but who knows. thats ford for ya.

but how did u make it functional? pics?

Ill post some pics of it... i drove it in the rain and it didnt get too much water into the engine but so much heat rolls out of that scoop its amazing. it droped my engine temp down 5-20 degrees

Yea the factory hoodscoop. I forget what years have them but i think it is worth cutting all that stuff out .

Under the scoop it looks just like the V6 and early gt hoods. I cut where the honeycomb on those hoods would be. I also cut the hood liner. Then I drilled the honeycomb out in the scoop. I glued 1/4 in foam materal to the hood to catch any water.

if you took a v6 hood (the heat extractor kind) and pulled the rubber n crap out of it, would it work like the cobra hood?
