Default Nitrous questions

My neighbors are big mopar builders. They said if I put nitrous in my car I would melt the pistons. Is this true. They know what there talking about to they build 5sec cars. I was thinking of a zex 100 wet shot. I was going to get a tune for it, get 2 step colder plugs. I dont want to spend $1500 to blow my motor. I only have like 88,000 miles. I want my car to last, but I want to do around 8.40s in the 1/8. Is this possible I do 9.32 now, but I have a superchips programmer and I cant use it with nitrous.

Your pistons will be fine with a 100 shot. You have other things to worry about.

slap them in the mouth and tell them to STFU... If you abuse nitrous/use incorrectly, then yes, you have a change of messing something up... But running all the saftey features (window/fpss/wot switch) and all that, you'll be fine...

Would be hard to predict a time with no previous info. You would have to turn timing down 2 1/2 deg. for every 50hp is the safest number to go by(Less flow also equals Less timing that you have to take out). Window switch would prevent you from spraying to early and would shut it off in case you redline.

Sorry saw your 1/8 mile time. I would say 8.6 no doubt. If not faster, depending on how the car responds to the nitrous.
