Are you sure that you are not leaking any gas. When I first got my stang I got horrible gas milage and could not figure out why. It smelled like gas everytime i filled it up. Eventually I figured out that the gasket from the filler tube and tank was completly spredded. I lost gas everytime i tured left.

what do you mean by "up to par"? I mean, the car runs pretty well. It has a SLIGHT miss that only me and my mechanic notice.

In my personal opinion, the tips are no worse than any other GT w/ 87k.

Keep the comments comin guys.

i think we have 16 galloon tanks. as far as that horrible gas mileage (about what i get when i drive moderately haha) id start out with the basics and see if you MAF, air filter and fuel filter arent the problem, all those are cheap fixes. if that doesnt do it id check to make sure youre getting a good spark and check your coils.

By eliminating the front 02 sensors you've eliminated the cars ability to adjust well for timing and a/f based on the exhaust coming out of the engine. It may simply be running on the factory default. You would typically be running RICH.

what also helps is if you clean your MAF sensor, i cleaned mines and it bumped by mpg by like 1or 2 still not much but yeah it went from 12 to 14.. still having like issues with my mpg still and im driving like a grandma (slow) :[

the K&N filter was properly cleaned and properly oiled (just enough, but not too much oil). As far as the MAF, where is a "how-to" clean the MAF?

His front O2 sensors should not be eliminated, the ones eliminated are the rear O2 sensors and the job those do is to verify that the catalytics are doing their job but it does not affect mpg. Worst that can happen with rear O2s eliminated without MILs or a tuner elimination of the sensors is that he would get a CEL.

Now for the location of the MAF....its the black plastic tube that connects to your Air filter, the tube with the electrical plug. Just grab some Carb cleaner and spray the MAF through that metal screen. Make sure you dry it good before you put it back on. And just to make sure your O2s adjust properly, disconnect your battery for about 2 minutes and then fire her up and see if anything changes with the mpg.

The MAF is getting cleaned this weekend. I wonder if the o2 sensors might need to be replaced. Would that cause ****ty mileage?

UPDATE: I have now cleaned the MAF. The car seems to not be any better...perhaps worse.

Now if you rev the car up to 3k, and let COMPLETELY off the throttle, it takes about 10 secs to idle back down. Even at that, it idles at about 900 constantly.

If you drive the car, and shift up through 3rd gear, you can COMPLETELY let off the throttle and cruise at about 37 mph for miles and miles and miles. I can also do this in any gear but that was just an example.

What do you all think could be the problem? I am thinking TPS.

Let me know what you guys think.
