Default Whats the torque?!?!?

I cant find it anywhere!!! Whats the torque on the crank bolt on the 4.6? I have underdrives if that makes a difference. I removed all the timing adjuster besides the piece thats attached to the pully. Now I have to go buy the stock bolt and torque it down.

The Chilton's manual says 114-121 ft. lbs....but that's for 94 -98. Dunno if that changes for 99+
Hope this helps.

torque is that twisting force that gets you off the line and moving...

... oh wait you drive a mustang you already knew that. [8D]

Well I took off the pully off last night just to find out I didnt have the stock bolt. So we put it back on and really tightened and now I have a slight vibration in the car. But the exhaust also sounds different from where we dropped it to get to the rear lower control arm bolts. I dunno... something just feels different!

WTF!!! I found the stock crannk bolt and its still too long! Same length as the bolt thats holding the timing adjuster piece on. Im on my way to Autozont to get a shorter one. I will let you all know how it goes.

Yea, that works as long as you don't ever want to get it out again, haha. If you do that, and a few years down the line want to take it back out, better get a 5 foot pipe for leverage, haha. 65ft/fts is recommended and plenty, generally speaking 65 ft/lbs is a lot of torque, esspecially for the crank pully bolt, there isn't much force at all on the crank bolt.
