The 8th digit of the VIN just indicates the engine type, not origin--"X" = 4.6 L SOHC...[/align][/align]Also, the model year vs. engine origin info presented above matches everything I've found, and I have seen a reference to Ford's adding 1.5" of height to the driveshaft tunnel someplace along the line so as to increase rear suspension travel--can remember where I saw it though...[/align]
