Hey yall, I've been having strange noises/vibrations in my car since I had a new clutch installed. They suspected there was a problem with the new clutch so they temporarily put in my original clutch to help diagnose the problem. Well, it still makes noises/vibrations. One BIG problem is that the clutch is engaging right off the floor, in fact I can barely get it into gear. I tightened the bolt on the clutch cable, and it went back to engagement near the floor in a minute of pushing the clutch pedal in and out a few times.

Thinking there might be something wrong with how they installed the new clutch cable, I went ahead and installed a new Ford Racing cable/quadrant/firewall adjuster. Anyway, I noticed when I removed the clutch cable from the clutch fork today that the clutch fork has a LOT of play in it. I mean, I can wiggle it back and forth, AND side to side. Is that how it usually is!? Anyway, thinking the cable tension may cause the fork to seat correctly, I proceeded to assemble everything, and upon setting the correct tension with the new set-up, I went to put on the clutch fork cover onto the tranny and realized something crazy: It wouldn't go back on! Meaning the fork must have relocated to a different position, because it was stopping the cover from seating! I'm assuming the pivoting mechanism of the fork has been damaged. Anyone seen this before? Is this a simple fix? I understand it involves dropping the tranny. I just wonder how in the world this could have happened. All I know is it started acting up after I got my car back. Gee...

mine is the same exact way(fork)(moves like a joist stick).my car vibrates at like 110ish.but i JUST put the steeda kit in my car and it bring all the pedal back. my cover is missing to.

 

idk there is a ball that it sits in.... i can see that it would move back and forth but not sure if side to side is any good.... its the fulcrum ball i believe its call, that or the clutchfork is worn there.....
