Default 17x9 vs. 17x10.5

How much does it help to have 10.5" rear wheels? I know it looks pretty sweet, but does it really help in terms of traction and launching?

17x9 rears seem more practical for tire rotation, that seems to be a plus side, as well as them being slightly cheaper.

I got the 18x9 in the front and the 18x 10 in the rear. I did for looks and the wider tire. The 285's in the back do really hook up a lot better, but you could easily put 275's on the 17x9. It's all in what you want. I did it for the deep dish!

Unless you are planning to run 315's, you dont need the 10.5. However, the wider you go the better traction you get thanks to having more rubber on the ground. How much hp are you looking to have? Unless you can roast 275's np, you dont need the 10.5's.

I was thinking about 17x9 in both front and back, but my buddy with a Vortech charged GT swears by his 315's (which I would get the 10.5 for, of course). I was gearing thisdiscussion more on the wider tire, and whether 315's are really worth the extra dough and lack of practicality.

Id go 10.5s, it looks better, you can get deep dish (so sexy), and also wide tires on the rear look awesome (again, so sexy). Not to mention you wont have to invest in new wheels if you do up the power later on. Besides, if you ever ger DR then you cant rotate your tires anyway.

Bro i would get the 10.5s in back and go with the 315s because it honestly looks sooooooo much meaner. It really does change the entire look of the car. If you have the cash i think it would be 100% worth it.

I have 295s on mine and my engine is all stock and i can still spin them pretty well. So im sure with the 315s you would have almost no spin until you made a decent amount of power.

I think I'm going to get some 17x9 and 17x10.5 polished Cobra-R's with Sumitomo's.

Think it would look good?
