Default Dirty Engine

If you looked under my hood, most of you would kill me. My engine is pretty filthy...now that I'm out of school I have some more time to baby my stang...What would be the best way to clean my engine, hoses, etc.? and what kind of cleaner works best? Thanks.

Yay I feel special that I can put some input now because I had the same problem as you.
Here's whatI did and the results were wonderful!

I used Black Magic Degreaser/Detailer spray. You can use pretty much any type of degreaser. But what I used worked extremely well.

Spray the degreaser all over your engine. I put it...EVERYWHERE.

I let it sit for about 10-15 minutes and then sprayed it off. I didn't cover anything up because I felt that since I wasn't directly slamming any plugs/wires with water, i'd be okay and it turns out I ended up being ok. I wiped off some areas with left over degreaser on it and also just to help dry the plastic engine components.

Then, I grabbed some Black Magic tire shiner and sprayed that ALL over the place. I let it sit for a couple minutes and wiped off some of the left over parts with a larger amount of tire shiner on.

Simple as that! I think a cardomain link is in my signature, I have an 'after' picture of when I cleaned my engine on it. Check it out!
