Default rev on launch?

A guy at the track over the weekend running an 02 gt auto said that he was told on another forum that when you have the RPM's up on launch changes your timing and fuel which slows you down. He said he then went and tested. First he had the RPM's at 1800 and ran a 14.21 then he started from a stand still and ran 14.17. Has anyone else heard this or tried it

[sm=funnypostabove.gif] that is a good question...how much can you really stall-up (?) those stock converters before the tires say bye bye??

i have no idea why it doesnt spin. its hard as hell to keep the car still but they dont spin. I am closer to about 2300 now that i look at it. If the conditions are not right I do spin off the line. I am going to back it down to 1800 or so.
