Default 4.10 vs 3.73

ok so yesterday i raced a 350z with a bunch of mods and i burned his ass1st threw 4th then at the end of 5th (WE RACED TOP END) He did a sling shot and swung right past me i was doing like 150+

my friend thinks i have 4.10 gears in my mach 1 1st threw 3rd go really fast so i was thinking the same but i dont knoe and i waste a crap load of gas

i was wondering if i had 3.73 would there be a big diff? in top end acc.

and am i going to get a better mpg ??

all comments appreciated thankx

I hate being the voice of reason, but there no need to be going 150. Im pretty sure a mustang is not made to be going that fast, its probably very unsafe. If you cant get there in a quater mile why bother.

I wouldnt bother with 3.73, they might help u pull on the top end better, but like i said, its just not very safe.

If you where at the end of 5th going 150+ then you probably dont have 4:10's.

your right a real race is in the first 4 gears anyway thats how i look at it as long as i pull them in 2nd -3rd im good with that

but as far as mpg ???
i was wondering if it would help me save gas if i had 3.73 gears

o by the way as soon as i hit 130+ my just barely moved thats why i was concerned my friend suggested i had 4.10 and i think he has a point about that 150 taking so long to reach

Who cares about that high of speeds? You are going to be ripping it in lower gears a lot more often than 5th. Screw going 150+. You will just kill someone or yourself.

If you want to know what size gears you have put your car on a lift and spin your back tire one time and count how many times the drive shaft spins 3 3/4 time's = 3.73's and Alittle more then 4 time's = 4.10's O but take the tire off and just spin the axle it's more accurate .
