Default Tune for 100 Shot?

Hey all,
I continually find good deals on nitrous systems. I was going to save for a SC, but I always wanted a nitrous setup. I like the power on demand and otherwise normal NA setup all the other times. However, I scrapped that idea since I was under the impression you needed flip chips and all that jazz to reliabely run nitrous. Recently, I caught news that if your just running a 100 shot (VENOM type) you don't really need to switch your tune prior to the run. A WOT switch is still a good idea, but past that a tune is not needed - past what you use for NA driving/racing.

What do you all think?

Take care,
Ceyko

Yup, so some sort of flip-chip thingy will be needed. Still way cheaper then a SC and otherwise no extra stress on the car when not in use. Ah well.

Thanks all

A chip is not all that hard. All you do is flip the switch to go to the nitrous tune and then flip it back when your done to go to your regular setup. Don't let the chip hold you back.

Most people I know use an RPM Window Switch for safety and dont "tune" it... I'm not sure about your stang but us Fbods have to run a colder plug for our cars when we run nitrous, NGK TR-6s is what we use. IMO a SC is better in the long run because that is REAL power on DEMAND, no filling a bottle or anything... and plus, you can't run it all night long, so unless you are planning on running mulitple bottles, and bringin a few extra with you... you can't run your car as much as you want... you've only got enough for the first few sprays... I would go SC...

I don't think he's complaining about having to flip a switch or asking for opinions.

Like him, I don't want to put out all the cash and time to get stuff installed and then not be able to use it safely until you get a tune.

You can run a small 50 shot or 75 shot with colder plugs and a stock tune, but really the best thing you can do is get a tune and use a flip chip.

oh ok... see, you know more about the stangs... i guess a 100 shot would be a bit much without a tune?

You'll definatly need a tune for running any amount of nitrous.
Don't listen to your friends buddy or whatnot saying It's A-OK to run a power adder without any type of fuel management done, or timing retard blah blah.
It's best to get it tuned on the dyno and a flip chip installed, the reason that you strayed away from n2o.
