Speedo calibration/ odometer.
My friend and I just installed some 3.55 gears in my car (98 GT)and I replaced the factory speedo gear with the white 23 tooth gear. The speedometer is within 2 mph of the correct reading, but on a recent trip, I noticed that the trip odometer read more miles than it usually takes. Is my mind playing tricks on me or is my odometer really racking up miles that i'm not driving?
If it is racking up miles that you aren't driving then something is off. My friends '95 Silverado does now that he got his new gears in, if something on the highway says it is 5 miles away he will put 7 on it til he reaches the 5 mile mark. You have to get the speedo tuned for the gears.
Just get one of these and be done. 100% accurate.
