99 vs 04 GT: differences?
I'm looking to purchase a new egde GT sometime soon (for my first stang) and was wondering if some of the experts here could help me out and let me know if there are any differences between mustang GT's from 99 to 04. For example, engine, suspension, interior, anything at all. I'm trying to decide if it is worth it to spend a little more for an 03-04 or will a 99-01ish be just fine. Also, I've heard non-Mach 1 or Cobra new edges, meaning just regular GT's, dont respond too well to mods, or at least as well as their more expensive counterpart special editions. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

I would get a mach or a 99-01 cobra if u can afford one.U have to spend alot more money ona 2v to get decent hp numbers but if u get a GT.Get a 01 or newer because there tranny is alot better then the 99-00.Thats about the onlydiff. though

+1 on the tranny. Also, the 04 GT(maybe 03 also) have an upgraded ecu and 21lb injectors, not the 19lb ones. I heard some people talking on here that the suspension was also updated.

differences between the GT's are minor
- different water pumps/pulleys starting in mid 01
- different style hood
- different stock rims, varies year to year
- 99's have a rear defrost button on the instument cluster thing, 03+ doesnt haha
stupid little details that dont really make a difference
the only thing you need to pay attention to if you pick up a GT is what year/style water pump it has if you plan on throwing underdrive pullies on.....other than that I really cant think of anything drastically different between the different years. I mean each year has their own colors/interior packages which are pretty minor....
just look at the top menu of the forums and click on Timeline.....itll go over the little things i'm too lazy to mention[8D]

I did a search on it and here is what I found for the injectors--
03-04 got pink injectors which are 21# or 220cc... they are good ... The eec needs to know the size of the injectors to know how long to keep them open. ...[/align]forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=654898

CUPHOLDERS! lol sounds dumb but 99-00 maybe 01, they are too close to the shifter. you have to reach over small cups in order to shift and if you have anything bigger than a change holder in the front cupholder its a bitch to get into 2nd/4th...just my $.02

I have no freaking clue how it is all wired, I just know after swapping the cluster, the rear defroster is always on unless I pull the fuse in the engine bay, and if I push the rear defroster button itself, it blows the 15amp fuse in the car for the a/c compressor clutch. WTF!
