Yes complete expect oil pan, and wiring harness. Yeah I know i will need a supercharger but I know with a DOHC I can get better gains over a 2V and plus it can handle more power than a stock 2V.
No it can't. Unless it has forged rods/pistons it cannot handle anymore hp than your typical factory N/A 2v & 4v. 450rwhp.
Well I thought that theDOHC 4.6 came with a forged crank, and rods. Or is that just the 03 Cobra motor?

Hmmmm well then I guess its not really worth it. But that kind of sucks I just that it would be cooler to say that I have a DOHC, plus they are just more responsive to mods unlike theSOHC. [&:]

That is far from a deal you can buy used 04 cobra motors for 4k with low miles from ebaythe 03-04 cobra motor will handle anything you can throw at it mine made 1040 BHP with no problems ( that is a little over 800 @ the wheels) I build custom strokers for 5500.00 all the time so I feel that it isn't a deal what so ever not to mention the would be a general duty motor and not meant for Excessive drivingjust my .02Dan

Wow now thats some amazing numbers right there, well maybe if I can find a good deal on a 03 Cobra motor ill go that route if not, blow and forge the SOHC. Ummm wat kind of numbers can you get out of a SOHC with it being a forged motor. 500+?

Forged internals won't increase your hp. They will give you the ability to use a power adder safely to reach big numbers depending on the quality of the forgings & your willingness to maintain the car. Stock internals on every 96-04 Mustang (Mach/Cobra/Bullitt included) can only safely handle 450rwhp..& even then you are asking for trouble.

The only motor to leave Ford with forged internals is the 03/04 Cobra & a longblock is $10,000+.

Oh I know forged internals dont increase horsepower, when your running high amounts of hp and boost is when you want forged internals. But say I went forged on my SOHC and got it blown is there a way that it could make over 500 or the SOHC's really cant go that high?

sohc is misleading, its more of a valveamount issue than a camamount issue. over 500 horsepower? yes you could go twin turbo, you could get a kenne bell with intercooler at 12+ psi on race fuel. after you forge the motor, and you want to put out those kind of numbers, expect to spend some building the rear end, fuel system and transmission. as stated before, youre better off buying a termie (03-04 cobra)

Forged SOHC cars can surpass 450RWHP.

All you need is full bolt-ons (intake mods, long tube headers etc) along with a power adder such as Nitrous or a Supercharger if you don't want to go the Turbo route. Very attainable!

A forged engine can handle all that power, but your transmission won't be able to for very long. Not to mention everything your suspension will need in upgrades to stand a chance of putting it all to the pavement.
