Its like from going from stock h-pipe to an off-road (no cats) x-pipe or off-road h-pipe, You are supposed to gain probably 10-20hp, depending on which brand, and which style. It also makes your car sound alot better--IMO

Theres no way in the world you would gain 15-20hp by taking your cats off. You barely gain that much hp by putting on a full exhaust.
And epi your car has nowhere near 300 horsepower man unless you aren't telling us something.

So long as its a aftermarket midpipe the cats really don't restric that much. I would expect to see MAYBE a 2-3 WHP gain from a catted car going catless on the typical bolton gt.

Going from the stock midpipe to a cattless X might gain you 8-10 WHP.. no more.

If you just cut the cats off of the stock pipes you will gain about 2-5 hp. An aftermarket offroad pipe gains more because of the manderal bends and bigger pipe. And unless you have nitrous or a supercharger or a fully built high compression ported heads with full bolt onsyou dont have 300hp.

You don't gain much at all by ditching the cats, a set of high flow cats is almost as good as no cats and you won't smell like gas/fumes everytime you get out of your car...or polute the environment as much...

No Cats is also a 10k fine if you get caught (its a Federal Offence)

I didnt realize that it was a 10k fine, is there anyway to get out of it if you put back on the stock h-pipe?
