well i was driving to work on the high way and i tried to speed to get in front of a truck to get off in the exit and when i went to shift from 3rd to 4th i guess i missed a gear..the car over revved like crazy...prob 7200 rpms..i almost lost control ...i take it str8t to the shop and im runing on 7 pistons and i bent a valve...mechanic says it ll cost some were near 900 bucks..im gona kill myself ...

Thats why you need to buy my brand new msd dis-4 ho ignition, lol.. It has a rev limiter that will catch it next time. Factory rev limiters suck. Sorry to hear about that though[&o]

Yea that does suck bad. What does a GT redline at anyway? I missed third gear in mine and my rev limiter caught it a about 7200 but thats not bad for a stock rev limiter since mine is supercharged, and redlines at 6800

 

They redline at 5750, and rev limit at 6250.

 

Mine redlines at 6800 and rev limit at 7000. So i just went over 200 rpm's

 

how much does an msd cost for my car..well i dont wana forge the block thats for sure and dont wana change any internals im hoping after this summer i want to look into buying a cobra and trading this one in.

 

Sounds like someone may have did the ol' 3rd back down to 2nd shift.......no rev-limiter in the world can save you when that happens[8D]
