I have heard our stock ignition system is good up to 500hp after that it is time to upgrade.

negitive the stock coil packs are the way to go the Granitelli coils lost 9 hp on the dyno accross the board and still main tained the same air fuel.

the Wepon X coil packs were so hot that it cause the car the break up real bad and have a 18:1 air fuel thisis not good

I own a dyno and have tested both styles on lightnings and cobras with results that were not apeeling to the motor nor the tuner. It is your choice I did the leg work ( and blew my race motor doing the test)

There isn't any reason to change em out, but how could a coil pack effect the air/fuel ratio? The coil packs have nothing to do with a/f.
