Default PI swap without tune

How necessary is it to get a tuner and a retune after I finish my PI swap? Only post if you're 100% sure and know what you're talking about, not opinions.

I drained my bank on my swap and now don't have the money for a tuner and a retune so i'm a little worried =P

If you're using stock PI cams you'll be fine and won't need a tune.

I just saw your info about the long tubes. If you're putting long tubes on I'd get a tune. It's not 100% necessary, but I would get one.

You can do it. I wouldn't reccomend it though. I'm doing the same exact thing, and my tuner advised me to get a tune done soon. However I have all my emmisions devices removed.

While it can be done, it is like playing russian roulette. Normal driving around, you will be fine, but I would be really leary about going WOT and bringing it into the higher RPM's. Make SURE you use 93 after the swap, since you are bumping up your compression due to the swap.

all this is good advice, thanks guys!

I might of gotten a good deal on a used SCT that's unlocked, but I don't know how i'd tune it differently. There's no PI swap mode, you know?

Get it tuned, put it on a credit card or borrow the money!

Just the stock PI cams - and I refuse to use my credit card or borrow the money, in enough debt as it is =)
