After my last post without much help given, I'm really hurting for some. I'm pretty sure my TOB has been going south for over a year now. My shifts from 1-2 and 2-3 have gotten a bit more choppy than they used to be. I read somewhere that a dead TOB will eventually fck up the synchros... but I'm not sure. The dealer won't repair the Synchros under the TSB until they inspect the clutch ( takes them FIVE days); I would then have to buy a new clutch assembly if it was bad ( which of course it will be). My warranty is up on June 19th... soooo I'm not working with a ton of time here.

OPTIONS:

1. Repalce my tranny fluid with the RP Synchromax I have sitting in the garage ( 32k miles on car), and hope for the best

2. Get a new clutch + all the goodies and repalce with the RP and hope for the best

3. New Clutch and have my car down for probably 3+ weeks while they fix it.

I would say buy the clutch and let ford do the SB on the tranny but why 3 weeks?

The quality service people at the dealership told me that it would take, at the minimum, 5 business days to pop the cover off of the clutch and take a look at it... What's funny is thatmy mechanic can have my tranny sitting on the shop floor in 45 mins. If it takes them a week to look at a clutch, I can't imagine how long it would take to actually do some work.

Well if its SB warranty work talk them out of a rental car to drive during repairs

learn to double clutch in the meantime man. Will make you feel alot better.

i would go with the new clutch yourself i just got a centerforce stage two and i love it. local mechanic messed up my headers but i will take care of that. cost me like 600

Sooo if my clutch is on the way out at 32k miles and I don't take care of it, my synchros will start to get damaged? If so, which clutch/flywheels do you peoples reccomend? Spec Stage 2 or a Centerforce Dual Friction look pretty good to me.

spec stage 2 is nice... I dont have any first hand experience with the Centerforce but I heard they are nice as well. How is your tranny already ****ed up after only 32k miles???

get the ford service number, call them, and tell them the dealership is trying to tell you its gonna take 5 days just to check the dammed TOB... thats stupid. Ford service should take care of the problem, it sounds like the stealership is just trying to screw you over.

They are trying to make you screw around and wait till your warrenty is up, and it sounds like its working. get in there and get the thing fixed!
