Default Embarassing Headlight Question

So I picked up my Mustang GT today. I wasn't planning on making a decision, but with all the cars I've looked at this was the first time that it felt "right" and I got a killer deal to boot (2 adult owners, under book value)

My dilemma is, in my short time with the car I could not figure out how to turn on the headlights. I'm used to my other cars where there was a switch on either side of the steering wheel for headlights, turn signals, wipers but the Mustang only has the left hand one for Wipers/Turn Signal. I thought maybe the dimmer turned them on, but twisting did nothing and pulling it slide off.

HERE

Not my car, but in case anyone is unclear by dimmer I mean the circular **** with the light bulb on it in the upper left of the dash. Anyways I'd like to know if it's broken, or just my brain is so I can visit the junkyard to fix it before having to drive it at night.

did you mean that you pulled the 'dimmer' out, and nothing happened? if so, did anything light up on the exterior?

Yea I pulled the dimmer out and the **** came off.

I'm guessing it's supposed to pull and turn the headlights on, so if anyone can tell me how to repair/replace it let me know!

Ya your supposed to pull that and the headlights and stuff will come on. If its falling off when you pull it my guess would be that its broken.

that used to happen to me on my 94 haha
you gotta turn it to a certain position, then pull it out and it will work fine...but if it was in one certain spot, it would just come right out
hopefully its the same easy fix for you

Thanks for the help. How do I remove the switch that the **** goes in to? It's a Ford part so I'm guessing from my experience with my Probes it slides in and out with clips holding it in?

Yes, just lift the little clip and pull right off.

So twisting and turning it I got the interior lights to come on, and the passenger side foglight. The corner lights may have come on but it was day so it was hard to tell. Faulty switch, needs headlight bulbs or am I an idiot?

Can you access the headlight bulbs to swap easily?
