RE: Difference between Cobra and GT Trac. Cntrl sys?
The GT and Cobra traction-lok axles use the same carrier and friction plates, the differences are entirely in the housing (GT=cast iron, Cobra=aluminum) and the IRS configuration...

well when you supercharge our cars you have to have tc turned off other wise if it kicks on you will blow the motor. so wouldnt it do the same on the cobra.

I suspect this is someone's speculation or interpretation as to why some dolt's engine blew--the t/c does cut fuel delivery and retard spark as part of what it does, and I suppose it would be possible that under extactly the right combination of events and conditions that could cause catastrophic detonation (not likely due to the immediate loss of power and retarded spark, but perhaps possible nonetheless). It may also be that the OEM tunes for the supercharged models accomodate this possibility--however I suspect that it is all irrelevant as anyone that adds a s/c to a GT is likely to turn the stupid traction control off first thing after they start the car, or through a tune--mine's been off for 6 months and I don't even have an s/c...
