I run 10w-30 Royal Purple in my 2v. 5w should be sufficient i just like having a little higher viscocity, especially when it's warm out.

On these new engines you cant change the weight like you used to. Even though it is getting hotter, stay with the 5w 20.

I would use 10W-30 synthetic year-round, unless you have very cold winters (less than 30° for extended periods); or unless you are running dino, then I'd use 20W-50 in thesummer and 10W-30 in winter--if you have winter where you are.We keep our cars for 10 years and 200k miles or more--and here in Northeast Florida it never goes below 40° for more than a couple hours and commonly hits 95°--so Irun 10W-30 synthetic in my '03 GT w/ 47kyear-round, and in the other beasts (a '96 RAV4 w/ 170k, and a '92 Miata w/ 195k) I run 20W-50 Valvoline MaxLife. The 'Stang will get this when it grows up too.The thin oils recommended by manufacturers have much more to do with meeting CAFE standards than with extending engine life; all it has to do is keep things together 'til the warranty expires, and if they last too long then it starts to hurt the sales of new cars...
