Default Changing gas filter

can someone tell me where thegas filter is and how to change it, 2006 GT, looking under I can see a cylinder aprox. 2" dia. and over a foot long in front of the gas tank, to me that seemed to big for a filter, dont really want to have the dealer do it. Thanks in advance

you'll need a fuel line disconnect tool (can't remember 5/16" or 3/8" i just bought the double ended one for fords) and a filter. pop the lines off and put the new filter in. on the new edge GT the filter is right above the rear end, not that hard to get to. goodluck!
