Default Vortec ?

Can someone tell me what the diff is between a Vortec V2-SQ V-2 S-Trim and V1 S-Trim? I know the SQ means super quiet, but is there a diff between the PSI you can push? Overall what's the main diff? Thanks

The V1 has a straight cut gear, while the V2 has a helical cut gear. the V1 is supposed to be alot more noisy than the V2.

The 2 blowers are very close in performance, here are links to the specs:

V2:

V1:

IMO the V2 is the way to go if its all even, but if you can get a deal on a V1 go for it!

You will need a new one eventually. All the power is a bit much for the stock clutch. Then again it depends on how much horsepower you will be pushing. If you are running low boost (5-7 psi) then I can see your stock clutch lasting longer than 'higher' boost (8-12 psi).
