Default vortec or paxton????

I gotta get some Induction, I am looking at the MPH Kit I don't know if I should get the Paxton or Vortec. The Paxton cost a little more but I don't know the difference. What kinda nubers do you guys think i'd have? Everything stock except for the o/r x-pipe and slp cat-back, cars got 95K on it (I just got a daily driver so she can rest) but runs tip top shape, my brother says get a compression test done first, to see what the engine is running like, what do you guys think?

96 gt auto.

Its always a good idea to get the compression checked on all cylinders before going FI. Especially since you got 95k miles on her

Is the paxton the novi 2000 or 1000? If it's the 2000 I'd go with it.

Hey Matts00gt can you give us a little more as to why your would go with the Paxton novi 2000 over the Vortech?

Well....if its a S-Trim vortech (most kits are) then the novi2000 is capable of producing more power. I think after 500 HP or so you have to upgrade to a T-Trim if you're using vortech. The Novi2000 is just capable of producing more power then an S-Trim before it maxed out its efficiency or w/e you call it. That's probably why the guy said go with the novi2000...just my guess.

Exactly. It should be capable of more power. If you decide to want more power later, you don't want to have to swap out the blower and buy another one. A friend has an old 5.0 notch with a novi 2000 and he's putting close to 500rwhp. His motor's worked over though so I'm sure it could be even more.

IMO, one of the most ultimate centrifugal setups would be a Novi with an aftermarket air to air intercooler setup.
