Default slow rev-down?

heres something thats bothered me about my dads car - when you gas it, it takes a while to rev back down - it's not a quick crisp blip of the throttle. sure it revs up okay but on the down its slow.. like rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr - whats up with that? is that just how they are?

Its the IAC, they made it pretty big for emission reasons, but a common cheap mod is people making a new gasget for it that reduces the size of the ac so you get the quick rev your looking for.

i thought it might of been the holes in the throttle body plate - hrm might have to tell him to tkae it off and have a look at it, he thinks it's annoying which it kind of is, taking forever to rev-down meh thanks

Need to change out the IAC...its quite simple, but you won't pass emissions if you don't put the stock IAC back on....

tyler, change out the IAC, as in removing it all together? or is there a performance one that helps or something? will this set the "check engine" light off?

The fix can be found here. One of these days I hope the mods will move it into the how-to section:
