Default is this a bad idea?

Is it a bad idea to supercharge (centrifugal) my 2001 GT with 101,000 miles on it?

How does it run now? If it runs pretty good then I wouldn't see a huge problem with it, but you would have to have a good tune. What I would do is go ahead and get a new shortblock then supercharge after that.

that depends on a lot of thing, but if you have taken good care of your car than I don't see why not. Get a good tune and you should be fine.

Well I am the 3rd owner, but the other owners took great care of it and I've had absolutely no problems at all with it. Everything runs just fine, just a lot of miles thats all, still going strong though. Would getting forged internals be less pricey and safer than getting a whole new shortblock?

its not too hard to find another 4.6 block around for less than 300, you could build that on the side so that you can still drive your car around with its current motor.

Do a compression check first, but if it was never driven hard should be OK! No guarantees in the performance world!
