BADSEED all cars really are different. So just keep practicing. Shift at different points and launch at different rpms until you find what is right for you. Sooner or later you will put it all together and you will amaze yourself when you see that time slip

Trap speed has more to do with the power to weight ratio. More power = higher trap speeds. More traction (better launch) = lower ET's.
Your trap speed is most affected by the power your car is making. Although traction can slightly affect the final speed, it is best used as an indicator for the power you are making.
The traction example is good when comparing traps between say a FWD car and a RWD car. Let's pretend a SRT-4 goes 14.0@102 with a 2.2 60', and a GT goes 14.0@99 with a 2.0 60'
Because the FWD car has less traction, but is making similar HP to the wheels, it's going to trap just a bit higher, but yield a similar ET.
That is why you GENERALLY see FWD cars trapping HIGHER in MPH than a similar ET running RWD car.
I believe it's Ride of The Month that said he was going mid 12's in one of his cars at something like 105mph.
The only way you're going to significantly affect your trap is by either greatly increasing your HP *figure a LS1 with 300+ to the wheels commonly traps 105, and I trap 100 with only 230 hp, that's alot of power for just a few MPH*
In addition to the power indication of your trap speed, it also helps indicate how well you would do against another car in a Roll Race. I can go 13.8's@100.8, while maybe there are some other cars that run mid 14's at 100 or so,,,
It would be a very close race from a roll, compared to a dig in which I'd slowly pull away.

whoever says the weight of the vert doesn't do jack **** is completely wrong. Whatever weight it is, its more weight, which make you SLOWER. even if its a 150 pounds is a lot more weight. thats over a 1/10 and if you know how to drive your car, you should be able to notice the difference of you driving by yourself and you driving with a passenger. So what, its only a 1/10 right? no, wrong! all that **** adds up, 1/10 here 1/10 there, and before you know it your already .5 faster. go ahead and shift at 5100 but your just going to bog into the next gear, you need to go a little higher than that. Whoever said don't let psi out on DR's is also wrong. Let as much air out of those suckers as you can and watch your 60ft decrease (if you know how to launch, it just doesn't happen by magic)
you've got a saleen body kit, hood, and wing. 18 inch CHROME rims, and a convertible. all the extra weight and rotating mass on your rims doesn't make your car faster... Don't expect better traps until you start doing mods that add power to your motor.
