Default blower install/shavings in oil pan

If you don't remember my blower screwed up 3 weeks ago. The bearings in it went bad. I sent it off to vortech and got it back yesterday. The shop I took it to installed it today and when changing the oil found a ton of metal shavings. They flushed the motor out a couple of times until they didn't see many shavings. Could this blow my motor? Will this blow my motor? Am I on borrowed time or what? The car sounds, drives and does everything normal right now. Give me some good news.

does your blower set up use a oil line from your pan?

if it does this is why your blower bearings went bad!

Yes it does. I don't think you're right though.

Hopefully the flush got all the metal shavings out and your new filter will get the rest. It wouldn't hurt to pull the drain plug and replace it with one that has a magnetic tip or even put a cylindershape magnet through the drain hole and into the pan. It would stick to the bottom of your pan and not go any where. There is also a cool little gadget that slides around your oil filter that is magnetic. I don't know if any of those ideas are going to help. Doubt they'll hurt though.

the shavings are most likely from the bearings that went bad inside you blower. They made their way down the s/c oil drain and settled in the bottom of the pan. As long as they didnt get sucked into the oil pickup tube then you should be fine. If they did, then you could also have shavings on top of the heads, inside the oil passages and floating around the rotating assembly. If I were you, id pull the valve covers, use a magnet to pickup any shavings and change the oil after that. Then drive it for about a mile or two, and change the oil again. Should be ok after that but im no professional....good luck

Since ya have already flushed it. I would do what other people have said. Get a good oil filter (I use K&N), a new magnetic oil plug...run the car a few minutes to let the oil circulate, then change the oil.

Well we used 15 qts of oil flushing it so I think that's good for now. I'm gonna drive it for a couple of days and then change it again. Where can I get these magnetic oil plugs and how do I install them? I'm not very mechanically enclined.

Take old plug out and replace with magnetic plug.
