Default Quick Question

Ok my friend says that if you forge the internals of a motor you can get up to 50-60 HP. And how he justifies it that since dropping weight and making the cars internals rotate faster thats how you gain the extra HP. But from what I thought you dont gain anything forging the internals other than having a strong motor that can handle more boost and hp than compared to stock internals. Which is correct?

what is he smoking? Forging it would just make it stronger, but generaly when you have the time and money to do all that you will upgrade to higher compression pistons which would increase power greatly.

Ok thats what I thought, so with the pistons you will only see higher gains with either intake mods, F/I or do you get power my getting new pistons?

stock pistons in our cars are dished. if you get a flater top piston it will make the combustion chamber smaller increasing your compression ratio so that you can burn more fuel and air. do you understand? you are taking the same amount of air and fuel and compressing it even more so that when it fires it is a more potent burn there for more power is derived.

ask him how it is possible. i'd like to hear why he says its possible. because your internals are stonger, you make more power....lol

if anything, forged if heavier. forged steel is a lot more dense than cast. It can spin faster because it is so strong it won't fly apart anywhere near as easily. cast steel is just molten metal poured into a mold. forged metal is compressed to make it more dense and strong as all hell.

Ok I can tell he know hes wrong but anyways, im planing on forging my motor, what are certain things I should look for in the build. I know a cobra crank is good, with forged Hbeam rods, and any type of pistons or what?
