I have a 98 Gt and need to replace the motor. I was just wondering if I can put an 01-04 4.6 in it. Would all the wiring be the same as the 98.

 

it pretty much should all be the same, as far as wiring goes, if you have the 01-04 GT computer, you should be set.

 

If you are going to use the COP ignition from the 99-04 then you will have to change the harnes.

 

Don't mean to hijack, but shouldn't he just put a 5.4 in the car if he can find one?

 

5.4's don't fit under stock hood, and there are probably more mods to be made, rather than just dropping the 4.6 in

 

you can use your ecm to tell you the truth you have to. You have the pats system so unless you have the keys ecm ignation and maybe the cluster from a donar carthe car wont start.There are a few things that are diffrent there is no low oil level sensor in 99-04 4.6 your car has 2 temp sensors and the pi intake has one so you will have to make a T and use your sensors and I think we had to do somthing with altanator but I don not recall I did this swap last year
