Default 97 cobra lowering help needed

I ordered and installed Maxspeed lowering springs today. I also installed and cheaper brand of caster/camber plates. The paperwork said it should drop the front 2.0 inches and the back 1.8.
Iam very happy with the way it looks but it rides like crap now. I feel just about every bump where the stock springs were nice ans smooth. I didn't have enough cash to get new shocks but that is hopefully in the near future. Is this normal? I'm half temped to put the original stuff back on but I do like the way it looks. Any suggestions?
