Most people opt to upgrade their motor with a shortblock with forged internals. VT engines, MMR and others are great choices. A Forged shortblock will have a forged crank, pistons and connecting rods. You will take the components (oil pan, heads, cams, etc.) from your stock motor and swap them over. The other option is to get a complete longblock, which will include a new set of heads, cams, timing chains and be fully assembled and essentially be ready to drop in to your car, this option is great, just very expensive.

Yea, here are some long blocks...not a bad price, but starts to jump up with the upgrade options.

Are you planning on getting blown? You might want to get the blower first, then start saving for the block. No really good reason to just get rid of the engine till ya blow it
