Default Breaking point

i need to know if im going to break anything by running 10.5X26 drag slicks with the following mods (went fine with 3.27 gears) 4.10's (which is what worries me) short shifter, Full Length densecharger w/ Pro-M Mass air P & P TB and Plenum and turndowns... my biggest concern is busting the half shafts with Hard as fvck launches

I launch at 4000-4500 on my Nitto's. Havent broke anything yet. LOL On a good day they grab hard and I lose no traction at all. Best '60 ft was a 1.85 and a 1.87.

i would try to stay off the clutch as much as possible in the quarter. i wouldnt ride the clutch unless u have to.

JD do u ride the clutch, do ur tires really catch @ 4000-4500 rpms? that seems really high. I always thought mustangs launch @ 2800-3000 RPMS.

MD what rpm do u launch @?

I was launching at 2300 with the Nitto's, I'd dump the clutch and not bog or sping badly (chip the tires through all of first). Worked out good to the tune of a couple 1.7x 60's and mostly low - mid 1.8x's. Most folks with stock gears launch Nitto's at around 2800 - 3000 like you said - JD's got gears, Nitto's, and some suspension mods, that is a really high launch he must be either feathering or has a very sticky track, or is spinning through all of 1st.

Your not gonna break anything on Nitto's because the tires are gonna break loose before you can come close to breaking anything. Today, in about 4 hours, I'll be launching at 5k on slicks [sm=icon_rock.gif]

When I launch I have to feather the clutch. I cant just dump ot or I will spin horribly. Ive pulled off a 1.85 and a 1.87 60' with a good launch from 4000 rpms and no spinning.
