so the dealer can disable the pats ability and just use it like a regular key without the theft protection? and is it possible just to bypass the whole thing and start it hot , hotwired that is i am having problems with my 97 not starting then starting weeks later the key or the antennae is the problem or loose wire to the antennae .hmm good luck nice pic..rogerwilco

An SCT and maybe Diablo TUNER can disable the PATS system, but YOU can't from the tuner AFAIK.
You have to let the person doing the tune know to disable it when you buy the tune.
AFAIK it's very difficult, if not impossible to hot wire the system.
Anything can be done though, given enough time.

well. nothin i can do now. but sit here. and wait. and wait. cause theyre not gonna be able to chekc the car out till monday. and odds are i wont get the car back till later in the week. and it will prolly be very expensive. [:@]

Green Team FTW!!
They had to reset a few things on the PCM side, said that whatever we used to toy with the computer(tuner) messed up portions of the memory and erased some other portions and that prevented the PATS from correctly interfacing with the PCM and letting the car know that everything was ok. No physical damage was done to the circuitry according to the tech. Hes gonna give it a quick drive to make sure the values are correct, let it chill for a bit, then start it up again and gimme a call later on today.
I just may have my baby back for the track tomorrow!
