Default GEAR INSTALL

im ready to do gears this coming week so i need alittle input from some people here. This is what im thinking: either 3.90, 4.10, or 4.30. im plan on stayin N/A for awhile (at least 2 years), then ill get the mongoose vortech kit. I dont do alot of interstate driving, so i need to know what gear should i purchase?

another question: I dont really go to the strip and race, im mainly a cruiser and race light to light if someone wants to. Would i be better off just doing 4.10's and some bolt ons with stage 2 cams/springs and forgot about the blower?

if you do plan to go f/i do stage 2 blower cams, and get 4.30s for now.

I've got 4.30's and I love them. I would suggest either 4.10 or 4.30 gears for you. If you aren't going to get a supercharger for another 2 years, I would not bother getting blower cams now (they don't work too well with a N/A setup from what I understand). The gears may not be a good thing to do now either if you are in fact serious about going F/I, unless you want to do them again down the road (4.30's would be way too much gear for a F/I car unless a lot more has been done to the car in my opinion). You might want to think about throwing that money into a set of long tubes and whatever else you can think of.
You might be able to get away with 4.10's and a supercharger, but that is up to you.

Well in that case, save up for the blower. You'll be much happier with the power you get from that than you will be with cams and gears. Plus, if you want to continue modding after the blower, you'll see more gains from everything you do.

alright, i got it. im goin with 3.90's for now since it will be a big improvement over stock and still not to much for a F/I down the road. im probably goin to buy all new brackets and everything minus a vortech headunit and try to find a used headunitto save some cash!!!. then ill be blown!!!

4.10's. I got them last week and I love them. The car just feels a lot better and quicker.
