cams are worth 20 - 30 rwhp, even a mild cam like VT stage 1's have been dyno proven to add 22-28 rwhp. Nice sounding idle, no long term negatives really - just a great cam that can be ran with the stock valve springs. Your choice though deciding whether its worth the $550 for cams.
Hey MD, I am going to do the PI swap soon, finish my bolt-ons and get a tune. I should be hitting about 285rwhp......what do you think I will put down with cams and a P&P job? I'm not doing that until it's time to rebuild to motor, but I was thinking maybe 330 rwhp??

Without longtubes I would think around 300 rwhp.

Really?? I though after-market cams would add 25 rwhp and a P&P another 20. I know I will be in the 280's after the swap and a couple more bolt-ons. I'm thinkin with my current mods after the swap I should see 260 rwhp.....then pullies, tb/plenum, maybe shorties and a tune should give me about 25 rwhp. Does that sound right? That's why I was thinking 330 rwhp[8D]

From everything I've seen here about cam swaps, the overwell HP peak doesn't increase all that much, but most people see a 20-30HP increase through their powerband, that is awesome.

That makes a little more sense...I thought it would be peak hp.
