is a new trigger wheel worth it?
title says it, i read that it is one of the most common reasons for engine failure because they crack and throw off the timing...

i work on 4.6 and 5.4's all day and i have NEVER seen a trigger wheel crack. So in my opinion its a waste of money.

In 2000 ford change the trigger wheel to a stamped design from a powdered metal design. So 2000 and on you shouldn't have to worry about it.

Its a waste of time and something companys made up to make money. The wheel just rides on the crank, nothing hits it I dont see anyway of breaking it.

Actually on the earlier modular engines it is prone to fail. It will fracture around the hub and it will mess up the ignition timing.
