Default ready for storage?

im going to be going off to college in august and my car is going to go into storage what do i need to do to prepare it im going to change the oil before and after when it comes out disconnect the battery and put it on jack stands is there anything else o and im going to put a cover on it

Why aren't you taking it with you to college? What about your folks taking it out a few times a month for you. Just down to the store and back.

im not taking it cuz ill be a freshman living on campus and my mom doesnt want me to also she said if i stay on campus she will take over the car payment until i get out and also its 40 mins to college and back and i dont want to put that many miles on the car and pay 3 bucks a gallon for gas also i live in ohio so there will be snow coming up soon

40 miles HAHA!!! I go to school in GA and live in WI and I'm taking my car!!! Thats 900 miles!! but yea I'm only driving it down there once!

Yes, fuel stabilizer and I would check the anti-freeze to see what it's rating is.

Fuel stabillizer is a definite, change the oil, clean fluids etc. Theres really not much you have to do to newer cars to keep them fine for awhile. Its not like old school Carb's.

is it staying in a garage or outside? theres no need to change the oil before storage. change it after you take it out and check all your fluids. try to get somone to start it up maybe once or twice a month. fill the tank up FULL so that you wont get any condensation in there. and disconect the battery. it should be good. make sure there are no rats or mice where you are storing it or they might start chewing on ****.
