Check engine light....
Ok so most of you know about me getting hit in the parking lot.... It was making an awefull noise and running really bad! Well i was so sure it was just an exhaust leak! So i drove to work today and on the way back my 'check engine soon' light came on.
I jacked her up when i got home and all that happend was a nut fell/broke off. So i found another one and reatached my X pipe and she sounds good as new . BUT my check engine light is still on and has been on for about 10 miles.... Will it go off itself?
Guy at exhaust shop says it wont and wants $60 to turn it off (ya fu*k him) and the guy at autozone says it will eventually go off itself.
So will it go off?

RE: Check engine light....
If the code clears and stays off after you reconnect and fire it, cool deal. Run it for a bit. If the cel comes back on, get the code read or better yet buy an inexpensive obd II scan tool that only tells you the code. Then look up the code on the internet. I'll bet it was a lean condition caused by the exhaust leak. Just to let you know, the guy at Autozone wasn't bsn' you. If the problem that threw the code was corrected, eventually, the code would clear itself. But who wants to stare at the cel for 100 miles or so? Btw, it's always the Neg Bat cable.
